ENTRY GUIDELINES

All new UFO Films released during 2009, either on video, or having a public screening, are eligible to enter. Films released prior to 2009, or to be released in 2010, may be submitted to the festival for public screening (at no charge), but will not be eligible for judging or awards. Such films will be shown only if time allows. Titles not yet released, but screened at this year’s festival, may be entered next year for awards judging if they are released during the year 2010.

In the event that we receive more entries than the available screening time would allow (app. 14 hours), a pre-screening evaluation will be done by two or more members of the board of directors to determine which films will be shown. The decision will be based on date received, subject matter and quality. Any films submitted, but not shown, will be returned, and the entry fees will be refunded.

ENTRY INTRODUCTION

All film festival entrants (for both judged and non-judged films) may present a 5 minute live introduction for their film, (providing time in the schedule allows).

ENTRY MATERIALS

1. Two copies of each entered film must be submitted. For the highest quality presentation entries should be submitted on DVD. All entries will be kept for the Congress’ Archive.

2. All film entrants must also submit with their entry a 30 to 45 second clip for each category entered to be used in the awards ceremony. If entering more than one category, please clearly indicate which clip is to be used for which category. All clips should be on DVD.

3. Please also provide a 2 – 3 sentence description of the film to be used in the program. Email description to Nicole at nicole@ufocongress.com.

(Should you have any questions regarding entry material requirements, please contact us.)

ENTRY DEADLINES

We must receive your entry materials no later than January 15, 2010. We will notify all entrants if they are or are not accpeted by the first week of February. We must have your entry and materials in advance to allow sufficient time to edit the clips of your film for the awards ceremony, to plan the screening schedule, and be able to list the films in the conference program. Please send entry form, fees and films to the address below.

(Any entries received after this date may not be accepted.)
